Event Logistics Assistant (OPS/Part-Time)

The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art, located in Sarasota, Florida, is a department of Florida State University.

Responsibilities

• Carrying and moving tables, chairs, lighting, and other event-related equipment around the Ringling's 66-acre campus.
• Setting up and operating A/V equipment.
• Ensuring logistical setups are completed prior to event start time and cleared promptly at the close of the event.
• Assisting with oversight of vendor load-ins and load-outs.
• Interfacing with clients, vendors, guests, and Museum staff with a focus on customer service.
• Enforcing established rules and policies for sound, guests, and vendor conduct.
• Maintaining the safety of property, in conjunction with the security department.
• Attending weekly planning meetings and maintaining event equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Florida driver’s license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

• Respond calmly to urgent situations
• Effectively communicate and problem-solve

Pay

$16.22 per hour (20 hours per week).

Schedule

This role has a dynamic schedule determined by planned events at The Ringling. Events are scheduled at least two weeks in advance and may occur on days, evenings (as late as 1:00 AM), weekends, and holidays. Additional support is often needed during the high season between October and May. Availability on weekends, days, evenings, or holidays may be required as needed.
