Event Host
About the role
The Office of Events is a growing department whose primary function is to assure the events hosted by Utah State University, "Exceed Expectations". The Event Host position will assist the Event Coordinators to ensure overall success of events managed by this position on the campus of Utah State University. Hours will vary depending on the number of events at venues. The hours will be mostly nights and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Aid Coordinators in all aspects of a successful event including, but not limited to: set-up/strike, A/V, equipment needs, event space, food and beverage services, parking, activities, tours, etc.
- Serve as the day of liaison between client and Event Services to ensure a successful and safe event.
- Work with campus partners to elevate the client and their guests event experience.
- Record & report any event changes pre- and post-event.
- Maintain a well-groomed and professional appearance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Three months experience with customer service if preferred.
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and people skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and handle difficult situations with the public and guests in a calm & professional manner.
- Ability to problem solve.

The position requires some physical activity. Employees must have sufficient strength to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position including heavy lifting and/or pushing and pulling of heavy objects (20+ pounds). Employees must be prepared to assume uncomfortable positions such as crawling, kneeling, and squatting. Employees must also be prepared to stand and walk for some of their shift.
Pay
$13.00/hr
