About the role

Circuit of The Americas (COTA) is a 365-entertainment destination for world-class events located in Austin, TX. Proof of the Pudding, operator of COTA Catering, is seeking Event Captains to join the premium hospitality team.

Responsibilities

Event Captains will be a point person of leadership on the event floor to provide customers with a first-class experience, assisting in the oversight of food service in the hospitality suites, banquets, and other catering events throughout the venue.

  • Ensure the setting of tables or buffets completely according to diagram and/or sample table
  • Manage time effectively and delegate tasks to the team
  • Manage the team that is scheduled to run each event
  • Communicate with serving, bartending, and culinary staff to ensure all scheduled staff are trained and prepared for the event
  • Conduct pre-shift meetings and manage the team of staff that is scheduled to run each event
  • Set buffet stations, which may include décor
  • Manage equipment inventory and assist with the set up and breakdown of events
  • Serve and clear food and beverage quietly, professionally, and quickly, using proper serving and clearing techniques
  • Keep work area clean and coordinate actions with the banquet team members and all other members of the front and back of the house to ensure flawless customer service
  • Report to the Operations Manager and perform any tasks assigned in order to execute a flawless event

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience leading a food & beverage team is required, with experience working in stadiums, large scale events, or hospitality suites preferred.

  • Proven customer service skills, with experience communicating with clients at events
  • Excellent listening and communication skills
  • Strong Customer Service skills with the desire to go above and beyond a client’s needs
  • The ability to work alone and as a team
  • The ability to learn and adapt quickly
  • Renowned time management and organization skills
  • Maintain good grooming and personal hygiene

Work Environment

The work environment for this position will be based at Circuit of the Americas, with events potentially taking place indoors, outdoors, or in temporary structures. The position will require moving throughout the grounds and venue on different terrains, as well as in and out of kitchen spaces.

Physical Demands

Prolonged periods of being in one place, moving through an event space, and traveling from venue to venue. Bending, lifting, scooping, and carrying miscellaneous equipment and food items. Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting up to 30+ pounds.

Pay and Schedule

This is a part-time hourly position, with schedules ranging upon business demands. Must be available to work all F1 event days, with a paid training day either October 14 or 15, 2025, and available to work October 17-19, 2025, and October 23-25, 2026.
