JOB SUMMARY
The Event Bartender is responsible for providing excellent guest service by serving cocktails and beverages for guests.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Takes beverage orders from customers and checks identification to verify age requirements
- Promotes brands and products to increase sales
- Performs set up and breakdown of bar area as well as side work and projects as needed
- Maintains the appearance and cleanliness of the bar/work area in accordance with company and health department standards
- Performs responsible alcohol service with regards to guest limitations
- Completes monetary transaction using a point-of-sale system by maintaining cash drawer, accepting cash or card for payment, returning correct change, etc.
- Maintains knowledge of all menu items and prices as well as related regulations for drink preparation and storage
- Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and thorough with strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong and accurate money handling skills
- Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of sanitation and health department regulations for safe handling of alcohol
- Knowledge of all bar equipment, cash register, and company beverage system
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- The employee is required to stand for the duration of the shift.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
- The employee may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
- The employee may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- The work environment may vary in levels of crowds, noise, and smoke, depending on the assigned station and customer volume.
