Event Attendant/Lead Event Attendant

JOB REQUIREMENTS

The City of Onalaska is seeking to hire Event Attendants and Lead Event Attendants. Employees in these positions are responsible for a variety of tasks related to concessions and event operations. Scheduled hours vary for each event, but may include: mornings, afternoons, evenings and weekends. These are considered Limited Term Employment positions. Work is reviewed by the Event/Recreation Coordinator.

• Greet customers in a friendly and timely manner and take concession orders from customers.
• Aid in kitchen processes such as preparation, cooking, and serving products.
• Process the order on cash register and return correct change; follow City cash handling policies and procedures.
• Balance cash drawer each shift or as directed following established cash handling policies.
• Prepare and provide concession supplies ordered by customers.
• Maintain cleanliness in concession area and surrounding eating areas.
• Follow safe food handling procedures at all times.
• Assist with event set-up and tear down.
• Assist with open skate; box office and pro-shop.
• Contribute to a cooperative working effort by demonstrating a willingness to perform other job-related work, as needed or requested.
• Lead a crew to complete daily customer service tasks (for Lead Event Attendants only).

Job Requirements

• Minimum age 14.
• Prior cash handling experience preferred.
• For Lead Event Attendants, a High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Compensation

The wage range for these seasonal, limited-term positions is $10.00 to $15.00 per hour, depending on qualifications, budget, and/or position. Flexible scheduling is available. There are no benefits associated with limited-term positions.
