Evening Custodian

Phillips Academy seeks an evening custodian to clean and maintain Academy buildings by performing routine and specialized cleaning of academic and non-academic spaces and maintain a clean, safe, sanitary and attractive environment.

Responsibilities

• Sweeping, mopping, dusting/washing furniture, vacuuming floors and surfaces and restocking restroom and kitchen areas.
• Sanitizing bathroom surfaces, fixtures, and food handling areas.
• Emptying trash and recycling receptacles and moving the trash and recyclables to the appropriate pick-up points.
• Strip, wax and burnish floors using power floor machines, as well as operate heavy-duty wet pick-up machines to remove liquids from floor surfaces.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license, personal vehicle for on-campus transportation required and full background check required.
• Must be able to work well with the general school community.
• Must be able to perform all aspects of custodial services.
• Be able to respond to changing and/or short notice custodial service requirements.
• Prior floor care and cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to carry out the duties of the position.

When emergencies and/or extreme weather conditions occur, the functions of this job may be deemed essential, and employee must report to work and/or remain on duty during their regularly scheduled work hours or the work hours designated by their supervisor.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 3pm to 11:30pm plus overtime as required.

Pay

$19.50 per hour
