Evening Custodian
About the role
The evening custodian is responsible for maintaining a safe and clean campus for students, staff, and visitors. Duties include cleaning classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms, multipurpose rooms, cafeteria, and other facilities. The position reports to the Custodian Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Performs tasks to maintain an attractive, sanitary, and safe campus.
- Cleans assigned campus facilities using appropriate equipment and supplies.
- Lifts up to 30 pounds unassisted for moving equipment and objects.
- Locks doors and windows and turns on/off lights at scheduled times.
- Performs routine minor maintenance activities.
- Inspects school facilities for safety and cleanliness.
- Identifies and reports issues like vandalism, equipment damage, and weather conditions.
- Works under limited supervision following standardized practices and methods.
- Completes other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Ability to use cleaning supplies and light cleaning equipment according to manufacturer instructions.
- Basic math skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
- Knowledge of proper custodial supplies and cleaning methods and techniques.
- Able to work with diverse individuals and operate job-related equipment.
- Dependability, arriving on time and completing tasks satisfactorily.

Compensation and Benefits
- Competitive salary between $22.00-$23.50 per hour.
