EV Charging Engineer

Birchwell Associates is supporting a growing EV infrastructure business in the search for an EV Charging Engineer. The role involves delivering safe, reliable charging installations across commercial and residential sites throughout the United Kingdom.

About the role

This position will suit a qualified electrician with EV or renewable installation experience who is comfortable travelling nationally and working independently on site.

Responsibilities

• Install, test and commission AC and DC EV charging equipment.
• Complete associated cabling, containment, distribution-board and protective-device work.
• Carry out surveys, fault finding, maintenance and remedial works.
• Configure chargers, complete basic network setup and support commissioning activities.
• Complete certification, installation records and customer handover documentation.
• Maintain strong standards of safety, workmanship and site communication.

Requirements

• Level 3 electrical qualification or equivalent.
• Current 18th Edition qualification.
• Testing and inspection experience, ideally including 2391 or equivalent.
• Previous EV charging installation experience is preferred.
• Knowledge of BS 7671, EV charging requirements and electrical testing.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationally.

Pay

Salary between £38,000 and £48,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
