Estonian tax and customs technology company Eurora has appointed Anneli Aljas as its new CEO. Aljas brings over 20 years of experience, including roles as CFO at Estonian mobility unicorn Bolt and co-founder and CFO of Estonian IT marketplace MarkIT. She has served as Eurora’s CFO since 2022.

Under her leadership, Eurora raised $40M in 2022, secured partnerships with major international clients such as DPDGroup, Wish, and Skynet, and expanded its team. The company also opened an innovation and development center in Tartu, with sales offices in the USA, UK, Singapore, and China.

About the Company

Eurora develops an e-commerce suite of customs compliance tools designed to simplify cross-border trade and logistics for small and medium-sized enterprises. Its AI-based platform automates global trade and compliance processes, including:

  • HS Code Allocation
  • Duty & Tax Calculation
  • Restrictions Screening
  • Pan-EU Customs Clearance
  • IOSS Registration
  • VAT Services

The startup was founded in 2022 by Marko Lastik, who is currently under criminal investigation related to his previous company, GTS Group. The investigation stems from a 2018 dispute with investment firm Novira Capital, where Lastik was accused of misusing funds. A recent court ruling favored Larix Partners, a Novira subsidiary, in a case demanding the return of €400K invested in Lastik’s logistics venture.
