ETL Test Automation Engineer

This is a contract-to-hire role with an estimated conversion to permanent employment at 6 months.

Pay

• $62.50/hour–$65/hour W2, depending on experience

Schedule

• 40 hours/week
• Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM EST
• 100% remote from anywhere in the United States

Responsibilities

• Perform ETL testing
• Validate source-to-target data mappings and transformation logic
• Develop and maintain Python-based automation frameworks
• Execute API, functional, and regression testing
• Create and execute test plans, test cases, and test strategies
• Analyze test results and coordinate defect triage activities
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders in Agile teams
• Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity across enterprise systems

Requirements

• 5+ years of QA and testing experience
• Strong experience in data warehouse and ETL testing
• Strong Python automation skills
• Experience with API test automation
• Strong SQL skills for complex data validation and reconciliation
• Experience working in Agile environments
• Experience creating test plans and test strategies

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with generative AI (Gen AI)
• Familiarity with data observability or data testing tools (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests)
• Experience with Pytest
• Domain experience in healthcare, including managing data regulations
• Working knowledge of cloud ecosystems and message/streaming platforms (Kafka)
• Exposure to Playwright automation
• Exposure to Gherkin syntax, BDD frameworks, and Cucumber
