ETL Reports Developer

About the role

The NC Department of Health and Human Services seeks a contractor to assist with implementation and maintenance of data extracts, ETL batch jobs, and reports for NC Families Accessing Services through Technology (NC FAST) using Cúram Software product and Oracle. The selected candidate will analyze and identify reporting requirements for the NC FAST Case Management System and implement recommendations to effectively report data of mid to high level complexity, related to varied business metrics. This includes designing, coding, testing, debugging, and documenting data interfaces and reporting solutions, enhancing existing data extracts and reports to meet business needs. The candidate must understand underlying data sources, interpret business requirements to analyze operational issues, and develop diagnostic and/or tracking data via reports and dashboards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and identify reporting requirements for NC FAST Case Management System reports and implement recommendations to report mid to high complexity data.
• Design, code, test, debug, and document data interfaces and reporting solutions; enhance existing data extracts and reports to meet business needs.
• Understand underlying data sources and interpret business requirements to analyze operational issues and develop diagnostic/tracking data via reports and dashboards.
• Gather and document requirements for new and existing data extracts and reports.
• Develop complex queries against large tables storing CLOBs/XML, create supporting data structures and report layouts.
• Write effective SQL queries that perform well against large tables.
• Analyze existing queries and report data to fix issues and extract data.
• Develop and analyze operational performance metrics and reports to ensure quality and integrity of extracts using validation and audit strategies.
• Provide 24x7 On Call support/rotation.

Requirements

• Experience using Oracle, Oracle Utilities, ETL tools – 5 years
• PL/SQL scripting and Relational Database modeling – 5 years
• Experience with structured system development methodologies – 5 years
• Ability to develop relationships/partnerships with customers by responding to needs and exhibiting sense of urgency; independently identify options – 5 years
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and follow complex and/or detailed technical procedures – 5 years
• Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Business Objects or BIRT – 5 years
• Experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe) development – 5 years
• Data Warehouse experience – 2 years
• Experience developing dashboards with Power BI and Azure Synapse – 2 years
• Familiarity with Amazon RedShift & Tableau – highly desired, 2 years
