About the Data Engineering Role
You will join an agile team on 2-week sprints, performing data research, ETL development, and unit testing as the team migrates workloads to the cloud.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, and unit-test ETL pipelines.
- Conduct data research and user-acceptance testing (UAT).
- Implement REST/SOAP web services and microservices.
- Work with parallel and distributed systems.
- Apply object-oriented design and data-structure knowledge.
Requirements
- 6–9 years of object-oriented programming experience in multiple languages.
- Expert-level Java, data structures, and algorithms.
- Hands-on experience with SOA, microservices, and automated testing.
- ETL development and SQL.
- UNIX shell scripting.
Qualifications
- Experience in the personalization domain (preferred).
- Exposure to big-data technologies: Hadoop, HDFS, HBase, Hive, ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana, Redis, MongoDB, NoSQL, DB2.
- Scripting in JavaScript, Python, or SAS.
- AWS and Snowflake (preferred).
- Self-starter who questions the status quo and manages ambiguity.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
About the Energy Safety Role
The Office of Energy Infrastructure Safety (Energy Safety) reviews electrical corporations’ Wildfire Mitigation Plans, develops safety performance metrics, conducts safety-culture assessments, and issues safety certifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead annual safety-culture assessments in collaboration with the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC).
- Design, implement, and maintain automated testing processes using Java, TestNG, Selenium, and Appium.
- Analyze and improve QA practices; execute manual smoke and regression tests.
- Document test results, investigate recurring discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Interface with stakeholders to ensure requirements are met.
- Develop technical work documents for controlled work packages.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years managing teams or programs in hazard mitigation, safety performance metrics, or the electrical-utility sector.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- PMP certification.
- Experience with the electrical-utility industry.
- Proven track record of leading safety improvements and measurable outcomes.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Apex and VisualForce (classes, triggers, batch processes, web services, APIs, Visualforce pages, components, controllers, test coverage, JavaScript).
- Lightning Platform experience and configuration.
- Strong understanding of Salesforce SOQL, SOSL, data model, and DevOps/change management.
- Experience in software testing (Agile/Scrum lifecycle).
- Knowledge of smoke/unit/regression, integration, TDD, and automated testing.
- Mid-level coding skills in HTML, CSS, and Java.
- Experience with Selenium or similar automated-test suites.
- Ability to write and execute acceptance tests, test cases, and automated scripts.
- Android and iOS app testing experience (highly desired).
- Strong understanding of mobile and web technologies.
- Ability to obtain Public Trust Clearance.
