ETCH Processor
About the role
The Etch Processor Class 1 will perform Passivation, Etching, Cleaning, and Passivity Testing. They will also assist the Etch Class 2 or 3 Inspector with inspection and test results of material upon completion of the process.
Responsibilities
- Perform procedural tasks such as pre-cleaning, etch, passivation, and passivation testing methods.
- Conduct daily system checks, including rinse water pH checks.
- Follow masking requirements, racking techniques, and representative bath/solution analysis.
- Collect and analyze monthly metallurgical samples.
- Manage waste treatment operations, handle, preserve, and protect parts.
- Review Work Orders, Inspection Techniques, Purchase Orders, and Quality Records.
- Comply with general department safety requirements.
- Train and guide trainees under the supervision of Class 1, Class 2, or Class 3 Processors.
Requirements
- Must be able to follow instructions and have detail-oriented skills.
- Must have integrity, good work habits, and a willingness to learn new skills.
- Class 1 Processor candidates must have 160 hours of documented training as a trainee.
- Class 2 Processor candidates must have 320 hours of documented training as a Class 1.
- Class 3 Processor candidates must have 640 hours of documented training as a Class 2.
- Pass Mistras Etch Qualification/Certification Examinations.

- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
