Estimator (Senior)

About the Role

The Senior Estimator will lead heavy civil and site development project estimations, including quantity take-offs, pricing, and bid preparation. Responsibilities include site visits, analyzing project specifications, managing client correspondence, developing bid strategies, and identifying constructability and value-engineering opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating teams and mentor junior staff
• Perform quantity take-offs and pricing for heavy civil and site development projects
• Analyze project specifications and conduct site visits
• Develop bid strategies and ensure bid compliance
• Identify constructability and value-engineering opportunities
• Assess site risks and coordinate with project teams for accurate cost capture
• Manage client correspondence and supervise up to 4 employees

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience in estimating for projects over $20M, with at least 3 years in a senior role
• Proficiency with HCSS HeavyBid and Agtek earthwork software
• Strong math, geometry, and drawing interpretation skills
• Knowledge of geotechnical information, construction principles, and bidding for multiple project types
• Ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously
• Valid driver’s license

Additional Information

• Approximately 20% travel required
• Occasional supervisory duties and physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 25 pounds
• Work primarily during office hours
