Responsibilities
- Prepares budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for construction projects.
- Effectively manages multiple estimates and proposals concurrently.
- Performs accurate and thorough quantity take-offs.
- Properly evaluates drawings, specifications, and other bid documents for all involved scopes.
- Conducts site visits, pre-bid meetings, and performs detailed scope evaluations for all trade work.
- Uses multiple software systems and web applications for estimating and bid letting.
- Collects bids and evaluates for complete and comparable pricing.
- Writes up project scope narratives in proposal format that is easily understood.
- Reviews bids with others for thoroughness and participates in project hand-off meetings.
- Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to ensure completion of all duties and tasks.
- Represents the Company, at all times, with professionalism and a commitment to quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years engineering, estimating, or similar experience with mass earthwork, underground utilities, water/wastewater treatment plants, or exposed piping.
- PE license or the ability to obtain one is a plus.
Preferred
- HCSS HeavyBid (or similar) estimating software.
- Agtek (or similar) earthwork takeoff software.
- Primavera P6 (or similar) scheduling software.
Education and Experience
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Required: Minimum of 3–5 years engineering, estimating, or similar experience with mass earthwork, underground utilities, water/wastewater treatment plants, or exposed piping.
- PREFERRED: PE license or the ability to obtain one.
