Estimator - Resource Group

Responsibilities

• Prepares budgets, estimates, and pre-bid packages for construction projects.
• Effectively manages multiple estimates and proposals concurrently.
• Performs accurate and thorough quantity take-offs.
• Properly evaluates drawings, specifications, and other bid documents for all involved scopes.
• Conducts site visits, pre-bid meetings, and performs detailed scope evaluations for all trade work.
• Uses multiple software systems and web applications for estimating and bid letting.
• Collects bids and evaluates for complete and comparable pricing.
• Writes up project scope narratives in proposal format that is easily understood.
• Reviews bids with others for thoroughness and participates in project hand-off meetings.
• Manages time effectively and prioritizes tasks to ensure completion of all duties and tasks.
• Represents the Company, at all times, with professionalism and a commitment to quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years engineering, estimating, or similar experience with mass earthwork, underground utilities, water/wastewater treatment plants, or exposed piping.
• PE license or the ability to obtain one is a plus.

Preferred

• HCSS HeavyBid (or similar) estimating software.
• Agtek (or similar) earthwork takeoff software.
• Primavera P6 (or similar) scheduling software.

Education and Experience

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Required: Minimum of 3–5 years engineering, estimating, or similar experience with mass earthwork, underground utilities, water/wastewater treatment plants, or exposed piping.
• PREFERRED: PE license or the ability to obtain one.
