- Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Review architectural, structural, and MEP drawings to identify scope requirements, discrepancies, and potential cost impacts.
- Solicit, evaluate, and level bids from subcontractors and vendors to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Develop detailed bid proposals, budgets, and cost breakdowns for management review.
- Analyze project documents and identify potential risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and other industry contacts to obtain competitive pricing.
- Track bid opportunities, maintain the bid calendar, and ensure estimates are completed within established deadlines.
- Prepare bid documentation, estimate summaries, and presentations for internal stakeholders.
- Maintain organized estimating records and compare estimated costs against actual project costs when applicable.
- Coordinate with project management and operations teams to support a smooth transition from estimating to project execution.
- Utilize estimating software, Microsoft Excel, and other relevant tools to develop and manage estimates.
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably with a general contractor or construction management firm.
- Ability to independently prepare estimates and manage the bidding process from initial document review through bid submission.

- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
- Experience working with construction estimating software.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in the NYC, New Jersey, or Connecticut construction market preferred.
