Estimator (Mt. Juliet, TN.)

Himmel’s is a growing, family-owned and operated company with locations in New Orleans, Prairieville, Dallas area, Houston, and Nashville area.

About the role

The Estimating Department is the lifeline of our growing business. This position is based at our Mt. Juliet, TN location.

Responsibilities

• Perform take-offs, identify relevant drawings and details, and review specifications.
• Identify door and hardware products that give us a competitive advantage while still meeting the requirements of the project.
• Efficiently communicate and work with customers, vendors, and architects to provide the best solution to meet the project's needs.
• Accurately input door, frame, and hardware info into estimating software (Comsense).
• Provide a clear and precise proposal to the customer.
• Follow-up on all bids to ensure the customer is happy with the scope and price.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Bluebeam.
• Excellent mathematical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively perform in an advanced, fast-paced environment both individually and as part of a team.
• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic, positive and helpful demeanor, and excellent customer service skills.
• Must pass drug and alcohol screen and successfully complete random screens.
• Preferred experience reading plans and specifications.
• Experience using industry-specific estimating software (Comsense or Pro-tech).
• Familiarity with construction industry requirements.
• Construction estimating experience: 3 years (required).

Pay

From $65,000.00 per year

Schedule

• 8-hour shift, day shift.
• Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
• Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
• Occasional overtime required.
