Estimator - Michels Underground Cable, Inc

About the role

As an Estimator, you will evaluate bid specifications and drawings to ensure we know everything required to successfully bid and win projects. You will follow up with subcontractors to confirm bids are received and collaborate with Project Management teams to track bids and budgets, closing business opportunities.

Success in this role requires producing highly accurate work in a timely manner, maintaining strong attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. Strong oral and written communication skills and comfort working with numbers are essential.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate bid specifications and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
• Follow up with subcontractors to ensure timely receipt of bids.
• Work with Project Management teams to track bids and budgets.
• Produce highly accurate estimates in a timely manner.
• Maintain strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering and 3–5 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of both.
• Estimating experience or exposure to the electrical/utility industry or data centers.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Solid Microsoft Office experience, with advanced knowledge of Excel.
• Ability to travel 25% of the time.
