About the role

PCI is seeking an experienced Joinery, Estimator for its West Coast Marine operations based in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Performing quantitative takeoffs of Joinery scopes.
  • Establish labor productivities for estimates.
  • Maintain positive relationships with vendors to solicit competitive material and equipment pricing.
  • Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-perform group.
  • Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages.
  • Be involved in the internal bid reviews with supervisors and project team.
  • Participate in the customer alignment objectives of the branch by creating and maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Assist in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s).

Requirements

  • Must have at least 3-5 years of experience estimating shipbuilding and joinery projects.
  • A strong understanding of joinery systems on Commercial, MSC and US Navy vessels.
  • Shipbuilding experience in New Construction and/or Repair/ Modernization.
  • A strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A high level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
  • Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quickbid.

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Experience working with union representatives is preferred.
  • Local to San Francisco, CA.
  • Relocation eligible.

Pay

Salary Range: $93,900-$126,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.
