Estimator - Industrial
PURPOSE
The Estimator – Industrial will support Project Managers in the pursuit of both Planning and Specifications, along with Design/Build/Negotiated Projects. Maintain and grow the “Client for Life” concept for existing and new clients.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Set-up and maintain estimating software including maintenance of database and system components
Develop common mechanical, process piping, and utility systems for estimating software
Update estimating software piping specifications as needed for non-standard requirements of job specifications
Prepare all mechanical, process piping, and utility project take-off for inclusion into estimating book using estimating software: Drawing take-off
Review of job specs incorporating all requirements into take-off calculation
Preparation of all take-off reports
Distribution of estimating reports to Project Managers
Responsible for working with project stakeholders to prepare estimates for projects, including complete scopes of work with vendor/subcontractor pricing and coordination
Communicate with Project Managers regarding take-off data, job requirements, and specifications
Meet project bid deadlines and schedules
Possess thorough understanding of estimating best practices and industry standards
Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of local market conditions including changes in material, equipment, and labor costs
Keep abreast of changes in industry technology and processes to determine impact on estimating methods
Assist Project Manager with Project Schedule, change order estimates, and cost analysis
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, vendors and subcontractors
Possess analytical skills to review and estimates compiled by others
Assist with estimating software training for new employees
Minimum Education & Experience Required To Perform Essential Functions
- Certificate or degree in related field preferred or equivalent experience
- Minimum of five (5) years estimating experience
- Strong knowledge of computer estimating systems
- Strong knowledge and understanding of mechanical, process piping, utility and structural systems, materials, labor and codes

- Occasional visits to a job site which would require periods of standing, walking and/or climbing stairs
