Estimator (Industrial Group)

Essential Functions

• Performs detailed quantity surveys and inputs into Timberline Estimating as directed by the Senior Estimator.
• Prices items taken off for review by the Senior Estimator.
• Communicates with the Senior Estimator and fellow estimators about unusual situations, scope gaps, etc.
• Distributes plans and specifications to subcontractors/vendors.
• Solicits and follows up with subcontractors/vendors.
• Maintains constant communication with and supports subcontractors/vendors throughout the bid process.
• Provides at least three competitive bids on all scopes of work for which they are responsible.
• Visits subcontractors/vendors as time allows to maintain a good working relationship.
• Supports the subcontractor prequalification effort.
• Analyzes quotes from multiple subcontractors/vendors.
• Drafts and negotiates subcontracts and purchase orders.
• Works on multiple projects simultaneously under the direction of multiple supervisors.
• Maintains a subcontractor/vendor database.
• Maintains an active presence in the industry.

Relationship Management

• Establishes and maintains relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Supports company community service projects.
