About the role
EPI Power, LLC is a licensed electrical contractor specializing in data centers. The Estimator II or Estimator III is responsible for preparing complete estimates for construction projects, managing cost history, and producing detailed reports.
Responsibilities
- Quantity surveying, pricing, bid solicitation, compiling cost history, and preparing systems comparisons
- Develop an understanding of the estimating software system and utilize company standards to produce reliable and well-documented quantity surveys in a timely manner
- Generate schematic estimates of projects assigned, pricing based on historical data and adjusting pricing as needed to allow for project conditions
- Aid in conducting organized sub and vendor solicitation while accurately communicating the required scope of work
- Ensure complete trade coverage is obtained and advise project lead of potential solicitation shortfalls
- Develop an understanding of the process for maintaining a record set of estimating documents including all addenda, changes, and clarifications
- Prepare the final estimate for rollover to the job cost accounting system
- Assist in the analysis of cost alternatives, send requests for cost analysis input to subcontractors as applicable, and provide quantity review as directed
Requirements
- Six (6) years of experience in an estimating role
- Construction industry experience is a plus
- An industry related bachelor's degree is strongly preferred
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Motivated to provide high-quality, accurate work
- Ability to learn new applications quickly as the industry grows and changes
- Skilled with prioritization and multi-tasking
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical with the ability to be proactive and solve problems
- Proficient in computer software including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to learn specific job-related software upon hire Bluebeam, Revit, and other estimating software
