The Purpose of Your Role
The Estimator II will help turn project plans and specifications into accurate estimates that give customers and project teams a clear understanding of scope, cost, and expectations. Working across disciplines such as plumbing, piping, and sheet metal, you'll use your technical knowledge to develop estimates for medium to large projects, including plan and specification, design assist, and design build work.
What You'll Be Part Of
- Work closely with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop competitive and practical project proposals.
- Review drawings and specifications, perform takeoffs, and develop complete project cost estimates.
- Evaluate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs to determine the most effective approach.
- Obtain vendor and subcontractor quotes, compare options, and make recommendations based on cost, quality, and availability.
- Develop proposals, document estimating assumptions, and maintain supporting project information.
- Work with other departments and disciplines while providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
What We're Looking For In You
- Experience in estimating, engineering, or the mechanical construction trades
- 4+ years of Microsoft Office experience, particularly with Excel and Word
- A strong understanding of construction, mechanical systems, safety, and project documentation
- The ability to read drawings and specifications and translate them into accurate estimates
