Estimator - Granite Bay, CA

About the role

You will be a pivotal Estimator at Jensen Infrastructure, working in a dynamic team environment within a modern, clean office. Reporting to the Sales Manager, you’ll collaborate with sales, engineering, and production teams. This is a salaried position with career growth opportunities into project management, outside sales, and more.

Responsibilities

• Review bid documents to determine the scope of work and required precast concrete products for large construction projects.
• Ensure drawings, blueprints, specifications, and data are accurate prior to cost estimating through communication with engineering.
• Calculate and prepare material and work item quantities (take-offs) based on project requirements.
• Prepare material pricing, labor production analysis, equipment pricing, delivery expenses, timing of product requirements, and other potential cost elements impacting the estimate.
• Identify new work potential by monitoring business opportunities through contacts, bid rooms, customers, and sharing key information for strategic planning.
• Provide technical assistance to sales employees regarding cost analysis for specialized projects with custom products.
• Coordinate with inventory teams to adjust production schedules based on historical sales, ensuring customer demands are met and reducing overtime labor costs.
• Work with customers to identify field crew needs, prevailing wage requirements, and on-site requirements for proper pricing.
• Coordinate with production and inventory to determine pour schedule needs and costing for manufacturing.
• Produce customer quotations and compile bids using an estimating platform.

Requirements

• Enthusiasm and motivation in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of estimating practices and commitment to customer service.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of solid on-the-job experience, including database administration and computer programs related to sales and customer service.
• Estimating experience in a precast concrete or construction environment highly desired.

Pay

Starting salary range of $72,000.00 - $90,000.00 (based on experience).
