Job Description
- Analyze construction plans, specifications, and drawings to define project scope
- Perform quantity takeoffs, review vendor/subcontractor quotes, and develop accurate estimates using historical data
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy, client interviews, and presentations
- Communicate and coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Solicit, evaluate, and prequalify subcontractors/suppliers; distribute project documents to bidders
- Support preconstruction and design-assist efforts; contribute to plan reviews and project handoffs
- Identify value engineering opportunities and research innovative methods, materials, and solutions
- Build and maintain subcontractor relationships to strengthen bid coverage and outcomes
- Assist in developing and executing winning bid strategies
- Complete additional estimating-related tasks as directed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field
- 3+ years estimating experience with demonstrated leadership in estimates
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding of construction building means and methods
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
