Estimator - Construction

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed, accurate, and competitive estimates for a variety of heavy civil and utility construction projects.
• Conduct thorough cost analysis, identifying potential cost savings, value engineering opportunities, and risk factors associated with each project.
• Manage the entire bid process, from reviewing project plans and specifications to soliciting and evaluating quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
• Ensure that bids are submitted accurately and on time.
• Stay updated on industry trends, construction methods, materials, and technologies.
• Use this knowledge to continuously improve estimating processes and enhance competitiveness.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Provide clear and professional communication throughout the bidding process.
• Mentor junior estimators, sharing expertise and best practices to foster their professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience in heavy civil and utility construction estimating and business development.
• Strong understanding of construction practices, methods, and materials.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency with estimating software, such as HeavyBid or B2W.
• Ability to travel as needed to job sites and industry events.
