Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial renovation projects.
- Review and analyze architectural drawings, specifications, and project scopes.
- Solicit, evaluate, and level set subcontractor and vendor bids.
- Collaborate with project managers and leadership on bid strategy and project feasibility.
- Develop and maintain cost databases, unit price libraries, and historical bid data.
- Identify and communicate project risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost-saving alternatives.
- Cook up and coordinate with clients, architects, and engineers during the pre-construction phase.
- Track and report on bid outcomes and win/loss ratios to support business development.
- Support multiple concurrent bids with varying complexity and deadlines.
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in commercial general construction estimating (Required).
- Proven track record estimating commercial general renovation projects (Required).
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction means, methods, materials, and costs.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar.
- Computer skills: MS Outlook, Bluebeam, MS Excel, MS Project, MS Word, Procore, Adobe, among others.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining clear communication with the broader team.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across New England as required.
Qualifications
- Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field (Preferred).
- Skills: OSHA 30 training certification preferred.
- Knowledge: Understanding of blueprints, drawings and schematics.
- License: Driver’s License (Required).
Pay
Annual salary range: $90,000 – $120,000, commensurate with experience.
