Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial construction projects
• Analyzing project plans and specifications to determine the overall estimated cost of a project
• Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and architects during the bid process
• Utilizing hard bid and soft bid techniques to provide competitive and accurate estimates
• Conducting risk assessments to identify potential cost overruns and provide appropriate mitigation strategies
• Maintaining a current database of vendor pricing, labor costs, and construction materials
• Participating in the negotiation and award processes for contractors and suppliers
• Providing detailed handoff packages to the project management team upon award of a project
• Continually improving and updating estimating processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimating
• Demonstrated experience with hard bid or soft bid estimating techniques
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, processes, and equipment
• Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail
• Proficient in using estimating software and technologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving cost-effective results
