NICA Contractor is seeking a detail-oriented MEP Estimator with commercial construction experience to join our Union team in New York.

Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates by analyzing plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for commercial, industrial, electrical, mechanical, MEP, and plumbing projects.
- Evaluate and present or negotiate contract terms in conjunction with the project manager and legal team.
- Conduct a thorough risk analysis for each project.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on project cost estimates.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of updated project costs, including all aspects of labor, materials, equipment, and time required.
- Prepare and submit budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors to ensure competitive pricing.
- Attend site visits and proposal meetings as necessary to assist in the preparation of estimates.
- Conduct ongoing review of project status; identify potential issues and proactively work with the project team to resolve.
- Coordinate with the project management team on change orders and contract amendments.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating.
- Proven experience in estimating commercial, industrial, electrical, mechanical, MEP, and plumbing projects.
- Union experience is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of the construction industry, including construction contracts, material, equipment, and project management.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent mathematical skills and spatial awareness.
- Proficient in relevant software, including estimating, project management, and financial analysis software.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
