About the role
The Construction Estimator is responsible for evaluating bid specifications and drawings, ensuring we know everything required to successfully bid and win the project. Estimators must aggressively follow up with subcontractors to ensure that bids are received.
Responsibilities
- General Construction Contractor estimating experience, Government Contracting preferred
- Proficiency in quantitative take-offs, all divisions preferred
- Ability to foster strong relationships with subcontractors, architects, and engineers
- Applicants must have strong organizational, communication, and computer skills
- Bid Administration: prepares subcontractor bid packages, ensures that we have the proper coverage from subcontractors on bid day, and enters all relevant information into estimating software
- Review bid requirements thoroughly and ask follow-up questions on every bid
Qualifications
- B.S. in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field position or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5-7+ years experience and knowledge of construction estimating, means & methods, accounting, document organization, and ability to read / understand all types of construction drawings and documents
- Proficiency in MS Office/Excel software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required
Skills
Strong organizational, communication, and computer skills are required.
Pay
$95k - $115k / year
Schedule
Full-time, with some periodic travel for site visits may be required.
