About the role
The Estimator will work closely with the internal quoting team, sales, and customer service to evaluate project costs, potential risks, timelines, and budgets. This role involves performing mathematical calculations and obtaining vendor quotes to estimate labor and material costs, while continuously reevaluating project needs throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Analyze project scope by reviewing customer blueprints, drawings, and specifications to understand all project requirements.
- Understand the internal business structure to ensure the correct facility is aligned for project completion.
- Calculate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and other resources needed for projects.
- Update customer price lists, set up parts, and kits.
- Prepare detailed, accurate estimates and proposals for clients and senior management.
- Monitor project costs against the initial forecast to ensure the project stays within budget.
- Assess potential risks and incorporate health and safety requirements into cost analysis.

- Attention to detail: Meticulously review plans and data to ensure all costs are accounted for.
- Technical proficiency: Knowledge of or ability to learn software for bidding and cost analysis, such as Microsoft Excel and Epicor.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of equivalent skill application in estimating and analyzing industrial manufacturing projects is a plus.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis is preferred.
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to type 35+ words per minute.
Work Environment
The role may be based in manufacturing, office, retail, or laboratory environments across Value Added Companies (VAC) locations. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as eye protection, face shields, gloves, masks, and closed-toed shoes may be required in manufacturing and laboratory settings. These environments may not always be climate-controlled and can vary in temperature. Office and retail spaces are climate-controlled.
Pay
$17.00 per hour
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
