What You'll Do as the Estimator
- Review project plans, specifications, environmental reports, and survey documentation to define project scope and pricing strategies
- Visit project sites to evaluate conditions, identify risks, and assess logistical requirements
- Develop comprehensive cost estimates covering labor, equipment, materials, permits, disposal, and subcontracted services
- Prepare professional proposals, bid packages, and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with project managers and field leadership to ensure estimates align with execution plans
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing
- Monitor bid results and analyze estimating performance to improve future submissions
- Stay informed on industry regulations, market conditions, and best practices related to demolition and environmental remediation
Must-Haves as the Estimator
- 5+ years of estimating experience within demolition, hazardous materials abatement, environmental remediation, or closely related construction sectors
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, environmental reports, and construction documents
- Experience preparing detailed project cost estimates and bid submissions
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed
Nice-to-Haves as the Estimator
- Asbestos Supervisor certification
- Asbestos Inspector certification
- Experience estimating large-scale demolition or environmental remediation projects
- Existing relationships with subcontractors and suppliers within the industry
