Estimator

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, but will consider other combinations of education or experience.
• Current North Carolina Driver’s License required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Complies with all safety policies, procedures, established safe practices, and ensures that all employees reporting to you do the same.
• Reports all unsafe conditions and actions to a supervisor and/or the Manager Safety and Health.
• Maintains a clean and orderly work area and meets other housekeeping needs as required by Sunrock, MSHA 30 CFR 56.20003, and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.22.
• Identify factors affecting costs, such as production time, materials, and labor.
• Read blueprints and technical documents in order to prepare estimates.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, clients, and contractors.
• Calculate, analyze, and adjust estimates. Recommend ways to reduce costs.
• Work with sales teams to prepare estimates and bids for clients.
• Maintain records of estimated and actual costs.
• Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
• Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Performs other duties assigned.

Physical Demands

• The physical activity level required is sedentary, while performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
• Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items, work with the fingers, and perceive attributes of objects and materials.

Special Vision Requirements

• Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more)
• Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
• Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point)
• Depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships)
• Ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)

Working Conditions

• The working environment will vary based on the indoor and outdoor production/construction environment.
• The working environment will be well-lit, heated, and/or air-conditioned indoor office setting with adequate ventilation.
• This role will also be exposed to outdoor working conditions to changing weather conditions (i.e., rain, sun, snow, wind, etc.).
• The noise level in the work environment indoors is moderate.
• The noise level of the work environment outdoors is loud.
