Estimator

About the role

Speedwell Construction is seeking a motivated, energetic individual who wants to build a career in commercial construction estimating. You'll work side-by-side with our seasoned estimator, gaining hands-on experience preparing competitive bids for commercial construction projects while developing the skills needed to become a successful estimator.

Responsibilities

• Contact subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing
• Build relationships with trade partners
• Assist with preparing bids and proposals
• Organize bid documents and project information
• Learn how to interpret plans and specifications
• Support pre-bid meetings and estimating activities
• Develop the skills to become a commercial construction estimator

Requirements

• Isn't afraid to pick up the phone—and will make dozens of calls if that's what it takes
• Has strong computer and organizational skills
• Is naturally curious and enjoys learning and technology
• Takes initiative instead of waiting to be told what to do
• Is persistent and enjoys solving problems
• Communicates professionally with customers and trade partners
• Wants a long-term career, not just a paycheck

Construction experience is a plus but not required. If you have the right attitude, work ethic, and desire to learn, we'll teach you the estimating side of the business.
