Estimator

Responsibilities

• Weigh in on the best bids for each trade based on the project's needs.
• Manage the pre-construction budget and its associated funds.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of the project strategy and apply it throughout the estimating process.
• Plan the job before project initiation, including conducting general conditions studies, creating procurement schedules, logistics plans, etc.
• Structure a fair and comprehensive final sub-bid process by integrating all relevant information from previous budgets, and educate subcontractors on the Shawmut perspective of the project.
• Present proposals effectively to clients based on their specific needs and preferences.

Qualifications

• At least 4 years of experience in construction estimating or a related field, preferably in commercial construction.
• Vast knowledge of all construction trades, including scope, time frames, field execution, typical missed scopes, and an understanding of MEP systems and components.
• Experience estimating in at least one sector: Education, Commercial, Corporate Interiors, Life Sciences, Hospitality, Retail, or Sports Venues.
• Solid conceptual estimating skills.
• Timberline (Precision Estimating) experience is advantageous.
