About the role
The Estimator I position at Rosendin offers a unique opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in electrical construction. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience in preparing bid documents and cost estimates for various projects.
Responsibilities
- Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
- Receive instructions from senior-level estimators to review proposal specifications and drawings.
- Prepare estimates by calculating the complete takeoff of the scope of work and entering them into the computer estimating system.
- Review the estimate printout for accuracy and completeness.
- Work with existing suppliers and subcontractors to solicit quotes and review quotes for completeness in relation to plans and specifications.
- Provide a detailed review of the scope, technical requirements, and pricing for the estimated bid package to senior-level estimators.
- Contribute to the timely completion of all client-required documents.
- Draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimates using existing templates.
- Maintain files of working documents for backup to estimating assumptions and methodologies.
Requirements
- Advanced knowledge of the assigned discipline, construction technology, estimating techniques, and cost control.
- Ability to interpret computerized cost data and electrical systems.
- Skills in reading and interpreting engineering design drawings, specifications, and front-end documents.
- Experience in prioritizing and managing multiple tasks, adapting to changing requirements, and working under time pressure.
- Proficiency in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
- Basic experience/exposure in Accubid estimating.
- Prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, as required for the position.
- Work independently and as part of a team, interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in estimating commercial construction projects, preferably in electrical construction.
Skills
- Interpret computerized cost data and electrical systems.
- Read and interpret engineering design drawings, specifications, and front-end documents.
- Identify and meet customers’ needs expectations and requirements.
- Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of specific variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Use existing templates to draft scope letter inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimates.
- Maintain files of working documents for backup to estimating assumptions and methodologies.

Pay
The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
Schedule
This is a salaried position with flexible scheduling to accommodate project demands.
