Responsibilities
- Prepare and fundamental understanding of layout plans, process and procedures and construction environments.
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates with direct guidance from management staff.
- Provide ancillary support to preconstruction effort such as document control, correspondence internal/external, material research etc.
- Conduct quantity take-offs and build a foundational understanding systems takeoff with oversight from management personnel.
- Training and understanding of cost model processes, outreach and validation.
- Collaborate with preconstruction, operational and opportunity stakeholders.
- Aid in preparation and submission of comprehensive bid packages in a timely and accurate manner.
- Engage in training, site walks and all opportunities and tasks assigned by Chief Estimators.
- Stay updated with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in cost estimating and construction methods.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of the estimating process.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a proven track record of successful project estimates.
- Experience in industrial projects is highly desirable.
Skills
- Proficient in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Bluebeam, Excel, Word, Sage Estimating).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
