Responsibilities
- Review and analyze architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and proposals to prepare detailed time, cost, and labor estimates
- Prepare and deliver accurate project bids, itemized pricing, and proposal documents
- Maintain complete and organized estimating files and bid logs
- Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to evaluate project scope, materials, and constructability
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, architects, and design professionals
- Analyze cost data and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiency
- Present budgets, reports, and project cost summaries to management and clients
- Cook up with project teams to ensure estimates align with production capabilities and schedules
- Analyze market conditions, building codes, materials, and construction methods
- Visit job sites as needed to verify conditions or review project scope
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and client presentations
- Perform additional tasks and assist with special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field required
- Minimum of five years of construction industry experience, ideally within precast, steel, or concrete sectors
- Strong knowledge of reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings
- Excellent math skills, including algebra, geometry, and cost modeling
- Experience using estimating software such as Bluebeam and familiarity with 3D modeling software (Tekla, Revit, AutoCAD, or BIM)
- Knowledge of current building codes and construction methods
- Strong communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer applications
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs
- Ability to handle multiple assignments and work under tight deadlines
- Professional demeanor with strong customer service orientation
