About the role
The Estimator completes intermediate sized estimates by performing a thorough and complete bid analysis reviewing all relevant project data, facts, and information, developing a plan for the scope of work involved in the project using sound reasoning and optimal means and methods of construction. This will cover utility construction projects and contracts including natural gas distribution and transmission, electric distribution and transmission, traffic control, telecom, and asphalt, concrete & soft surface restoration.
Primary Responsibilities
- Attend customer pre-bid meetings and occasionally visit job sites.
- Review bid documents for critical cost drivers.
- Develop questions and submit to customers on bid package on each bid.
- Prepare bid pricing, schedule, and submittal documents for various business units.
- Communicate clearly and effectively with other Estimators and Operations personnel.
- Collaborate with other members of the Estimating Team.
- Maintain and protect confidential information.
- Advance multiple projects simultaneously toward completion.
- Solicit material and subcontractor quotes.
- Meet milestones and deadlines.
- Review and analyze large data sets to establish trends and patterns.
Position Requirements
- 5+ years’ experience in construction estimating preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field preferred.
- Experience with Bid2Win software is preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
- Excellent communication skills (written & spoken).
- Detail oriented and focused on accuracy.
- Demonstrate leadership, critical thinking, and mediation skills.
- Self-motivated, self-learner, capable of working autonomously.
- Works well under pressure, responds appropriately to changing priorities and unexpected situations.
- General understanding of Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus and Unit contract pricing mechanisms.

Pay
$60,000-$125,000/year (Compensation will depend on qualifications and experience.)
