About the role
PCI is seeking an experienced Senior Estimator for its PCI Atlanta 101 operations based in Smyrna, GA.
Responsibilities
- Performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.
- Establish labor productivities for estimates.
- Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing.
- Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-perform group.
- Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages.
- Be involved in the internal bid reviews with supervisors and project team.
- Participate in the customer alignment objectives of the branch by creating and maintaining positive customer relations.
- Contract administration for secured projects.
- Prepare wage and benefit schedules.
- Absorb secured projects to the Operations Team.
- Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s).
Requirements
- At least 5-7 years’ experience estimating construction projects.
- At least 10 years of total experience within the construction industry.
- Strong ability to read, understand, and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work, specifications, materials, and methods.
- A record of establishing and maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills.
- Accuracy in reading project schedules to determine sequencing and durations of scopes of work.
- Proficiency with computer takeoff and estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quick Bid.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word), Bluebeam Revu, Procore, or PlanSwift.
- Effective in both collaborative team environments and independently.
- Capacity and willingness to expand upon or acquire new knowledge about product lines/scopes.
- Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management.
- Experience with drywall and framing for commercial interior projects.
- Experience working with union representatives is preferred.
- OSHA Certification.
- Local to Atlanta metro.
