Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed conceptual, schematic, and hard bid estimates.
- Estimator will review drawings, specifications, and project documents to determine project scope.
- Perform quantity takeoffs and cost analyses.
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Develop pricing proposals and bid packages.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
- Collaborate with project management and operations teams during preconstruction.
- Maintain current databases for labor, material, and equipment costs.
- Participate in bid reviews, client meetings, and scope clarification discussions.
- Support successful project turnover to operations teams upon award.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of estimating experience within commercial construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building systems.
- Experience preparing comprehensive estimates across multiple project types.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Able to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
