About the Role

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Estimator to support industrial EPC projects across the power generation, oil and gas, manufacturing, and heavy industrial sectors. The role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates, supporting bid proposals, and collaborating with engineering, operations, and construction teams to ensure successful project delivery. The successful candidate will have strong estimating experience within industrial or heavy construction environments and a thorough understanding of construction methods, productivity, and project costing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs from engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and 3D models using Bluebeam Revu
  • Develop comprehensive cost estimates covering structural steel, process piping, mechanical, civil, fabrication, and related construction scopes
  • Estimate labour, material, equipment, subcontractor, and indirect project costs
  • Review, evaluate, and negotiate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and field personnel to validate construction methods, productivity, and resource planning
  • Maintain and update historical cost databases, unit rates, and labour productivity benchmarks
  • Support value engineering initiatives and project risk assessments during bid preparation
  • Prepare competitive tender submissions and cost proposals
  • Price project variations and change orders during project execution
  • Conduct site visits as required to support estimating activities and project evaluations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
  • Minimum 5–7 years of estimating experience within industrial EPC, heavy industrial, or major construction projects
  • Experience estimating projects ranging from approximately USD $5 million to $100 million or larger
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Bluebeam Revu
  • Strong understanding of industrial construction methods, labour productivity, and estimating principles
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, P&IDs, and technical documentation
  • Strong analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • High attention to detail with the ability to meet tight deadlines

Preferred Experience

  • Experience supporting self-perform industrial construction projects
  • Background in power generation, oil and gas, manufacturing, or heavy industrial facilities
  • Experience working closely with construction, engineering, and operations teams
  • Knowledge of value engineering and construction risk analysis
