About the role

At Gothic Landscape, every successful project starts with a great estimate. We're seeking an Estimator who can see the details, understand the scope, and help set our teams up for success.

What You'll Do

  • Review construction plans, specifications, and bid documents to fully understand project scope and requirements.
  • Perform accurate quantity takeoffs using On-Screen Takeoff (OST) software.
  • Prepare detailed estimates using Sage Estimating (or similar estimating software).
  • Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors and subcontractors to ensure competitive and accurate bids.
  • Analyze material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs to develop complete project estimates.
  • Prepare cost analyses and identify opportunities for value engineering while maintaining project quality.
  • Identify discrepancies, omissions, or potential risks within construction documents and communicate them to leadership.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure estimates align with project goals and operational expectations.
  • Participate in estimating meetings and support continuous improvement within the department.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of construction estimating experience, with commercial landscape construction estimating experience preferred.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills with strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
