Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Estimate and/or bid on suitable construction and asphalt paving projects
• Lead and present information in planning meetings
• Participate in self-development activities
• Develop relationships with suppliers, and customers, and other stakeholders
• Maintain accurate reports and project mapping; understand contract designs and specifications
• Understands or finds out how to best build specific heavy, civil and structural engineering projects
• Reviews and understands safety policies and procedures as outlined in our safety manual and can apply that knowledge where applicable in the biding process
• Reads plans accurately, conceptualizes project, interprets and presents value added engineering
• Identifies and initiates activities that will assist in building and cementing relationships with owners, owner representatives, subcontractors, and vendor
• Build a preliminary project schedule

Entry Expectations

• Work Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an Estimator in the Heavy Civil Construction industry
• Strong preference for a candidate with 5-7 years of experience estimating DOT, municipal roadway, site development, earthwork, drainage, and infrastructure projects
• Experience with public bid lettings, quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, subcontractor procurement, and estimating software is highly desirable
• Education / Training: BS in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
