About the role

As a Project Estimator, you will play a crucial role in establishing relationships and marketing our company's brand in a positive, honest, and professional manner. Your work on the phone directly impacts customer retention and word-of-mouth sales. This role is ideal if you enjoy combining superior listening and communication skills with an outgoing personality to build instant rapport and further our business initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the entire sales process from the initiation of the original call through finalization of account set-up for each customer.
• Own and grow client engagement while providing competitive yet profitable estimates to contractors, municipalities, and private parties.
• Work closely with the Divisional Accounts Manager and support outside sales with estimates and follow-ups.
• Initiate contact and maintain open communication with your Division Manager, Outside Sales Manager, and all stakeholders to land sales, adjust to client requests, and provide solutions to challenges.
• Acquire background information on new clients and understand their needs.
• Research and understand our equipment, including each piece’s function and purpose, to confidently upsell customers and highlight our services.
• Maintain an organized workspace and properly file documents, updates, and product information for easy reference.
• Listen attentively to consumer questions and provide knowledgeable, insightful answers to encourage sales.
• Showcase the company’s strengths and highlight our brand by emphasizing what makes our organization unique.
• Participate in weekly meetings to discuss benchmarks, personal goals, and team goals for the upcoming week.
• Analyze required documents, blueprints, and project plans to determine production factors influencing cost, and prepare material and cost estimates.
• Understand, develop, and maintain site logistics plans with the superintendent.
• Prepare and execute bidding and estimating functions, including bid instructions, pre-bid meetings, and sub-contractor buy-out.
• Analyze actual productivity against estimates and make site visits as needed to gather relevant information.
• Monitor and manage prevailing wage for projects, including payroll, and submit bi-weekly certified payroll reports.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain an organized and professional workspace; highly organized.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently.
• Knowledge and proven experience with negotiation and problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in customer service, sales, and/or customer retention.
• Previous experience in project estimating, cost estimating, and sales functions.

Pay

$20.00 - $25.00 per hour with bonus opportunities.

Schedule

• Full-time, 8-hour shift.
• Monday to Friday.
