Estimator

About the role

You will prepare winning estimates on deadlines under the direct supervision of the Chief Estimator. Using provided information, you will estimate the cost of proposed electrical construction work.

Location: 2401 Back Acre Circle, Mt. Airy, MD 21771

Responsibilities

• Analyze digital plans/blueprints through Bluebeam and McCormick Winsystem
• Review construction documents and understand scope of work to bid
• Prepare accurate estimates using on-screen takeoff in McCormick Winsystem
• Communicate effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, salesmen, engineers, and vendors to identify components for a winning bid
• Generate and submit RFIs when appropriate
• Provide a complete and accurate cost estimate from contract drawings/specifications and report directly to the Chief Estimator
• Obtain quotes from subcontractors
• Read quotes for accuracy according to the contract documents
• Prepare and streamline scope inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications for estimates
• Submit proposals to appropriate parties

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience within the electrical construction industry
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Proficient in Estimating software, Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, and Outlook
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work as a team and individually with a positive and professional attitude

Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
