About the role
The Estimator at Align Builders will play a crucial role in supporting the company's pre-construction goals and estimating efforts. They will provide reliable and competitive estimates that clients can trust.
Responsibilities
- Skillfully interpret and understand the components of a project and build bid packages to capture all definable features of work.
- Oversee the pursuit of multiple projects concurrently or engage in a single large project pursuit.
- Coordinate directly with project architects, designers, owners, subcontractors, and field personnel.
- Manage project information within our estimating outreach software.
- Manage and track historical data on past pursuits, as well as maintain current cost data in our databases.
- Manage and distribute information during the project pursuit/preconstruction process: addendums, ASIs, pre-bid RFIs, preliminary schedules, standard contract documents, etc.
- Communicate directly with clients and trade partners regarding estimate status and critical issues.
- Support the preconstruction manager to ensure meeting client deliverable dates and fulfilling RFP requests.
- Utilize Building Connected and estimating/budgeting software (Destini).
- Evaluate and present the best value subcontractor to the client.
- Assist with the estimating hand-off to project teams.
- Participate in constructability reviews to identify issues, discrepancies, VE options, etc.
- Support project start-up and trade procurement.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a construction estimator or project manager.
- Experience in commercial construction, particularly in Health Care (OSHPD), Life Sciences, Higher Education, and Office Improvements.
- A Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, construction estimating software (Destini), bid solicitation/management software (Building Connected), project management software (Procore), and scheduling software (Microsoft Project).
- Experience with OST, Sage/Timberline, Winest, and other estimating software is valuable.
- Interpersonal skills to engage with clients, internal team members, and trade contractors constructively and productively.

Pay
The base pay range for this role is $80,000 – $120,000 per year.
