About the role
The Estimator 2 position at Manhattan Construction Company is focused on supporting the company's preconstruction services in adherence to MCC Standards. This role involves compiling takeoffs, subcontractor deliverables, assisting in estimating, and tab sheet creation. Key responsibilities include creating estimates for scopes of work, negotiating pricing, and managing contracts. The Estimator 2 must demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, strong communication, and client service skills.
Major duties & responsibilities
- Responsible for creating estimates for scopes of work assigned
- Basic knowledge of unit pricing
- Provides leadership over smaller projects
- Negotiates pricing for scopes of works assigned
- Makes recommendations for software updates
- Responsible for bid package scopes of work for work assigned
- Aids in creation of bid manual
- Aids in managing historical costs / estimating software database
- Conducts themselves in accordance with our Guiding Principles and exhibits attributes matching the Way We Work
- Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent
- May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-one basis
- 3 years of industry experience
Working conditions & physical efforts
- Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day
- Ability to repeat the same movements
- Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls
- Use hands to type, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or control
- Occasionally lift, pull, or move up to 25 lbs
- Occasional travel will be required, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License)
