Estimating Manager

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly review and understand the project specifications and drawings.
• Exhibit a good understanding of how the owner pays for the Schedule of Values.
• Produce accurate take-offs and pricing of Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil components.
• Complete cost estimates on project from $10M to $100M price range.
• Solicit subcontractors and vendors for quotations.
• Prepare/manage Minority Participation matrix.
• Analyze self-perform activities versus subcontracted.
• Prepare/assist in creating construction schedules.
• Prepare/analyze equipment utilization schedule.
• Update databases with labor rates, vendor plug values and equipment rates.
• Complete cost estimates for assigned scopes of work on larger projects.
• Provide mentoring for younger estimators.
• Manage small group of assisting estimators.
• Exhibit good communication skills with internal staff, subcontractors, vendors, client representation, etc., maintaining ethical standards.
• Participate in Joint Venture estimates.
• Identify risks and opportunities for projects.
• Capture quantity and cost comparison with Joint Venture Partners.

Requirements

• 4-year Engineering Degree or equivalent.
• Estimating experience.
• Technical training and/or related experience.
• Advanced math and computer skills.

Preferred

• 10 years working in the field of Heavy Highway / Heavy Civil projects.
• Design Build/P3 Experience.
• HCSS Heavy Bid.
• Microsoft products.
• Bluebeam.
• Smart Bid.
• Teams.
• Share Point.
• CADD.
• Viewpoint Vista & P6.
• Experience estimating all types of projects/contracts.
• Experience supervising others.
