Responsibilities
- Perform a full range of aesthetic services including facials, nail services (manicures and pedicures), and waxing in accordance with established protocols and safety standards.
- Deliver a warm, professional, and personalized guest experience from consultation through service completion.
- Conduct thorough guest consultations to assess skin, nail, and hair-removal needs, contraindications, and preferences.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all spa services, products, and facility offerings.
- Prepare treatment rooms, tools, and products prior to each service, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and proper sanitation.
- Clean, disinfect, and sanitize all tools, implements, equipment, and work areas before and after each service in compliance with State of Hawaiʻi regulations and property standards.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control, hygiene, and safety protocols at all times.
- Review daily appointments, arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled services, and accurately document services as required.
- Recommend appropriate home-care products and service enhancements to support guest results and satisfaction.
- Maintain adequate inventory of supplies necessary to perform services and notify management of replenishment needs.
- Ensure treatment areas and common spa spaces are maintained in peak condition throughout the day.
- Address guest feedback or concerns professionally and promptly, escalating when appropriate.
- Report malfunctioning equipment, safety hazards, or sanitation concerns to management immediately.
- Ensure the spa receives the highest ratings from TrustYou VOG scores as well as LQA/guest satisfaction.
- Handle guest complaints, comments, or concerns with discretion and urgency.
- Follow and ensure all colleagues adhere to all safety procedures and practices of the property; lead by example.
- Prioritize guest safety and service at all times.
- Report any potential hazards or emergencies so they can be rectified immediately.
- Assure safety of persons and property within the premises by fairly applying hotel regulations and strictly following existing laws.
Requirements
- Service-focused personality is essential.
- Luxury resort or wellness experience is essential, ideally in Hawai'i.
- Proven ability to build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders.
- Strong communication skills and networking abilities.
- Ability to lead by example and foster a strong team culture.
- Experience and education in Spa within a luxury resort setting.
- Valid Hawaii Beauty Operator License (State and Federal Requirements to work in a Spa).
- Additional certification(s) in Spa are advantageous (e.g., Hawaii Licensed Massage Therapist, First Aid, CPR, AED).
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States; the hotel is unable to assist with U.S. work authorization.
Pay
Direct service providers such as Estheticians are entitled to earn "commissions." Estheticians are eligible to receive up to 34% commission of the price paid and received by the Hotel for the service performed.
